Ballet on the North Shore

Ballet Theatre of Auckland offers classical ballet training from Initial to Advanced level. In addition to syllabus work, students from Grade 3 onwards are offered the opportunity to attend Open Classes (of a professional ballet company standard). All students from Grade 3 onwards are also offered the opportunity to partake in the weekly Performance Class, where students rehearse choreographed pieces (often jazzy, and always lots of fun) to be performed at various venues and events.

Private lessons are also offered per appointment, where knowledgeable professional and ex-professional dancers can share their expertise in assisting young dancers to excel and overcome personal technical difficulties.

Furthermore, Ballet Theatre of Auckland also welcomes young children, three years and up, and recognises the importance of creating a secure and fun environment for these special little dancers, so they can discover the magic of ballet.

Ballet Theatre of Auckland provides young ballet dancers with the opportunity to be trained in a professional, yet safe and fun, environment, by professional ballet dancers. Ballet Theatre of Auckland envisions to provide the highest level of quality training to equip young dancers with everything they need to succeed in the highly competitive world of professional dancing.

In addition to the ballet school, Ballet Theatre of Auckland 1 has recently been established, which is a professional ballet company, currently consisting of three dancers. Ballet Theatre of Auckland 1's aim is to develop into a fully fledged professional ballet company in Auckland, providing an employment opportunity to students wishing to move into the dance profession.
